Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) is a pioneer in IT Tertiary education. Established in 1990, it has collaborated with leading British Universities such as Manchester Metropolitan University, University of Keele and presently with the University of Westminster, London, to award undergraduate degrees and postgraduate degrees in IT and Management. Since inception, over 1500 graduates have passed out and are employed in high positions in leading IT companies, both here and abroad.

A few years ago IIT offered 0ver 300 scholarships to deserving students to follow their undergraduate programmes. They too have all graduated and are gainfully employed. This year, 60 students were short-listed after a demanding selection process from over 1500 applicants. Already 40 of these students have commenced their education at IIT on a part time basis. Informatics International Ltd., Visual Computing Systems (Pvt) Ltd., hSenid Software International & D Samson & Sons (DSI) have sponsored these students.

The part time programme is of 5 years duration. Whilst undergoing training they will work full time in their sponsored company, who pay their tuition fees to IIT. In addition to this payment they are paid an allowance to meet their daily expenditure. This will be progressively increased when they gain experience. After graduation, they have the option of continuing to work for the sponsored company or look for employment elsewhere.
