IIT Launches Second Intake for UoW Degrees
The Informatics Institute of Technology (IIT) is launching its awareness campaign to enroll students for the University of Westminster London, (UoW), degree courses conducted by IIT in Sri Lanka. The courses commence in September 2006 at IIT in Wellawatte. This is the second intake of students.
There are 5 degree courses, namely
• BSc (Hons) Computing
• BSc (Hons) Information Systems
• BSc (Hons) Information Systems with Business Management
• BSc (Hons) Internet Computing
• BSc (Hons) Software Engineering
The UoW courses in Computer Science provide a gateway to professional life and personal development of students in England, Europe and internationally. Westminster’s graduates continue the traditions established during the last 165 years – of innovation and applied science – and they play valuable roles in the development of a global knowledge society.
IIT in Sri Lanka shares a common ethos with the UoW, centered on the commitment to develop students in knowledge and skills which employers require.
Established in 1990, IIT is the pioneer and the oldest private tertiary education institution offering British university degrees in IT and Management. IIT is experienced, dependable, with care for quality education.
Not only does IIT produce quality graduates but men and women to take up leadership positions in the industry. This is amply proved by the 1250 graduates who have passed out and in top positions both here and abroad.
The courses are conducted entirely in Sri Lanka and the degree certificate obtained is identical to the one awarded to students at UoW. Most of the other institutions doing similar programs in Sri Lanka have to send their students to UK to complete their courses. IIT does this right here in Sri Lanka at 1/10 of the cost. The course is of four years duration and the local costs are around Rs250.000/= per year.
