Informatics installs HP Cloud Matrix System for Etisalat

The Informatics Group of Companies which has been a pioneer in Sri Lanka’s Information Communication Technology (ICT) sector recently announced that the hardware arm of the Group successfully completed the installation of the Hewlett-Packard (HP) Cloud Matrix system for telecommunications giant- Etisalat.

Informatics reached another key milestone by being the only HP partner in Sri Lanka to sell a private cloud to its customers. The HP Cloud Matrix is the entry-level solution of the CloudSystem portfolio which is an ideal solution for Infrastructure-as-a-Service for private and hybrid cloud environments.

The solution includes a self-service portal for quick auto-provisioning, along with built-in lifecycle management to optimize infrastructure, manage the resource pools, and help ensure uptime. It also includes cloud-bursting capabilities to a variety of public cloud providers including HP Cloud Services.

HP Cloud Matrix is built on HP Converged Infrastructure technologies, such as HP Blade System and Matrix Operating Environment and is optimized for HP ProLiant and HP Integrity servers as well as HP storage and HP networking.

The solution also support third party x86 servers, networking and storage and operating systems such as Windows, Linux and HP-UX. Supported hypervisors include VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Red Hat KVM and Integrity VMs.

“HP Cloud Matrix is designed to simplify the deployment of infrastructure, applications and cloud services by delivering IT capacity through pools of readily deployed resources. The goal of the Matrix operating environment is to accelerate provisioning, optimize IT capacity across physical and virtual environments and to ensure predictable delivery and service levels,” Lasantha Bogoda the Head of Sales and Marketing for Informatics said.

“This latest technology introduced by HP includes an integrated service designer, self-service portal, auto-provisioning capabilities, the tools to manage and optimize the resources pools as well as a recovery management solution. It can also be easily customized to meet specific requirements enabling chargeback and billing, approval process integration, as well as other process automation capabilities,” he said.

The Group Managing Director of Informatics, Hiran Wickramasinghe said that Informatics along with HP as our valued partner has been in the forefront of introducing the latest technological innovations to empower organizations.

Cloud System Matrix is available in small, medium or large configurations. The configurations can be expanded with additional hardware and software from HP or third parties.
