The Informatics Rugby Sevens was an event hosted by Informatics Holdings in celebration of their 30th anniversary, it was held in grandeur at the CR&FC grounds on the 27th of January. It was a brutal and fast paced event that took place in a perfect atmosphere with a robust crowd. There were two groups battling for the title in a 12 minute duration. An exhibition match was a part of the festivities in which the Sri Lankan National Women’s Rugby pool demonstrated their talent and skill.

The Rugby Sevens was directed by Veteran rugby referee and Tournament Director, Dilroy Fernando, who stated it was first of its kind, and produced some clean, hard rugby between teams that boast a bevy of talented players, who have at one point represented several leading schools in Sri Lanka.

Participating teams represented the following entities Informatics Private Limited, Informatics Institute of Technology, Achievers, ACBT, the ICBT Colombo and Kandy campuses, APIIT, CINEC, SLIIT, IIHE and SAITM.
