BORDER CONTROL - PASSPORT AND IMMIGRATION OFFICE, FIJI

The Department of Immigration (DOI) aimed at computerizing the Border control and management activities for which the InfoBorder system was facilitated to transform border operations and improve the passenger experience. The InfoBorder system for the Fiji Immigration Department went live at the beginning of April 2013.  The solution was developed and implemented in consultation with the department and caters to many aspects of immigration and border control processes. At present, there are two main international airports with one seaport where the Border Control module clears an average of 4000 travelers a day. The DOI Head Office and its four branch offices carry out the other Border Control related operations.  Branch offices at outer islands have the facility to process Travel documents and Visa applications. The benefits received from the system include a fair and efficient service to local and foreign international travelers and securing borders against undesirable travel.
